Expressive Arts Therapy combines psychology and the creative process, including, writing, music,
and visual arts, to promote emotional growth and healing. Throughout the process, you'll learn new
and different ways to use the mostly nonverbal language of creativity to communicate your inner feelings
that weren't previously accessible by simply thinking or talking about them. Because art comes from a
deep emotional place inside you, creative interventions enable you to undergo a profound process
of self-discovery and understanding.
As an artist who is trained in various artistic mediums and counselor who has personally experienced the healing process of Expressive ArtsTherapy, I will help you communicate your feelings about the process and created art forms exploring your emotions and problems. Since Expressive Arts Therapy is based on the creative process, not on the final product, it is NOT necessary to have a background or training in the arts to benefit from Expressive Arts Therapy. If you want to learn how to use your inborn desire to create as a therapeutic tool to help initiate change and healing, schedule a session today.
